Name: Angelica Bermudez

Where were you born and raised? I was born in Tempe, Arizona but was raised on the Arizona/Mexico border in a small city called Douglas, Arizona.

When did you begin running? Summer after 7th grade going into 8th.

How did you get started running? I was a typical little sister wanting to be like her big sister and started running when my sister joined the high school cross-country team. I would go with her to her summer practices and I’ve been hooked ever since!

Favorite distance to run: The marathon (even though I don’t think it likes me)

Favorite race: Marine Corps Marathon

Favorite Track N Trail event: Saturday morning long runs. I’m always amazed at how many people enjoy (or maybe not enjoy but do it anyway) waking up earlier on a weekend than a work week day. I love it.

Favorite place to run: Trails.

Favorite Quote: “It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

Favorite Song to Listen to while running: Sounds of Nature by Earth. Lol, just kidding–I don’t usually listen to music when I run but when I do, I like variety–Foo Fighters “The Pretender”, “Against the Wind” Bob Seger, “Sweet Nothing” Calvin Harris and Florence Welsch, “Lose Yourself” Eminem

If you could run anywhere in the world where would it be? Anywhere as long as I’m with my husband.

Other Hobbies: I really, really, really like basketball—watching it, playing it, reading about it.

Advice for new runners: Don’t put so much pressure on yourself, but always try your best.
