buddy the elf

Name: Buddy Hobbs but I was born William

Where were you born and raised? I was born and raised at the North pole by Papa Elf

When did you begin running? I began running as a small child.

How did you get started running? Every year we had a maple syrup mile race and I always seemed to win. I never thought about the height difference till Papa Elf sat me down and explained that my height was so much different than the other elves. It may have given me an advantage.

Favorite distance to run: I definitely like the 5k especially if it is snowing.

Favorite race: It is a tie between The Gilbert 12 Days of Christmas and The New York Marathon

Favorite Track N Trail event: The Ballards Christmas light run.

Favorite place to run: In the snow.

Favorite Quote: “If you see gum on the street, leave it there. It isn’t free candy.” –Santa (I didn’t listen and he was right. I should have listened)

Favorite Song to Listen to while running: “Sleigh Ride”, “The Nutcracker Suite”, “Santa Claus is Comin to Town”, Oh and my very favorite is “Jingle Bell Rock”!

If you could run anywhere in the world where would it be? Back at the North Pole with Jovie and Susie.

Other Hobbies: Making toys, snowball fights, decorating for Christmas, and painting.

Advice for new runners: Sing while you run, sing while you walk, sing when you are stopped. Heck, just sing all the time!
